ETHICAL PICKS: MAYAMIKO S/S 17

[ IMAGES: MAYAMIKO ]

As strange as it is, it's beginning to get a little too late to show you my favourite pieces from a brand's S/S 17 collection. Most of them are currently previewing their A/W collections and shooting the pieces for their websites and promotion. I guess that just shows the fast pace of the fashion industry. However, this is a good time to buy due to the sales. People Tree have a massive sale on at the moment with many of the items I was lusting over in my post about their S/S 17 collection that you can read about here. As well as the sales, these pieces are often great for transitioning into Autumn so you will definitely get year round wear from them.

Today I've picked Mayamiko to share with you. If you are into ethical fashion then probably already know about the brand but I hoped people that had never heard of them before would stumble across this post and fall in love with their beautiful patterns and colours. The brand in my opinion is personally affordable which is great as that means it is making ethical and sustainable fashion more accessible.

The pieces in these collections are gorgeous. Maybe not a recommendation for the minimalists out there but these pieces could sit very well in a more basic wardrobe to inject some colour. The pieces are also very on trend with big sleeves, ruffles and knot details. However, at the same time they are incredibly classic and would be treasured in wardrobes for quite a long time. My favourite piece has to be the knot dress in the Pandora print in the first image. Sadly I left it too late to purchase it before my holiday but I hope you might be able to grab some last minute holiday buys! If you buy anything from Mayamiko or already have any of their pieces then make sure to tag me in your photos to give me some styling inspiration.

A LEVELS ARE OVER + I'M BACK

FILTER ADDED TO PHOTOS
NO PHYSICAL EDITING

I finally finished A Levels a couple of weeks ago and I am relishing in the fact that I won't have to take another exam again, or at least for the foreseeable future. I was hoping to be a lot less stressed once I had left sixth form but I am still feeling that weight on my shoulders with organising university and work things. I don't think it helped that my first week of freedom was spent mostly drunk. However after a week in bed watching YouTube and Love Island and a mini break to the Lake District, I'm starting to feel more relaxed. Although, that may be the loss of blood after my donation today.

I'd set myself many things to do over the summer like stocking up my Depop and learning to knit (don't know when that's going to happen). Oh, and also changing my lifestyle to be more healthy and ethically conscious. At least I have until the 23rd of September to sort my shit out, so I might have time to squeeze in knitting.

Thought I'd write this post to let you know where my heads at. I will be a lot more active on my blog and social media from now on so if you're liking what you see then give me a cheeky follow on Bloglovin'. I will be adding a new "transparency" feature to my posts as seen above, explaining the editing of images used on my blog and other relative subjects. Additionally, I will be linking posts to other posts where the items of clothing have been styled differently. This should give you an idea of how to get multiple wears out of the clothing in your wardrobe and both new features should improve the ethics of my blog.

Thank you to @oli_415 for taking these amazing candid photos of drunk me and my friend.
