New York: Exploring Midtown Manhattan

[ PHOTOGRAPHY: Myself]

After attempting to rid myself of Glandular fever over Christmas I was lucky enough to be able to go to New York with my degree course. We arrived just as the snow was melting and thankfully it wasn't minus twenty degrees so had an amazing five days in the big apple.

We flew in on Monday evening (NY time) and eventually were let into the country in what felt like five in the morning (US airport security is no joke). This meant our first evening was left to collapse in the hotel. We stayed in the Hotel Wolcott, it had an interesting decor style and the room layout was questionable but it was sandwiched between Fifth Avenue and Broadway so we forgave it.

Tuesday, our first full day, was spent exploring midtown Manhattan. Twenty-six thousand steps later and we had seen Grand Central Station, Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building, every shop on Fifth Avenue and had been followed round both Saks and Bergdorf Goodman's by numerous concerned staff. It was an incredible first day in the city.
